San Diego Partners up on Electric Car-Sharing Program

San Diegans will have a new option of transportation in the near future now that the city has agreed to partner in the nation’s first all-electric car sharing program.

Car2Go will make available 300 two-seater Smart Fortwo cars at various reserved parking spaces in the downtown area of the city.

Where are the Green Jobs?

3,454 new, permanent green jobs were directly created under the federal green-tech program.  The Obama administration had promised that the $38.6 billion loan guarantee program would create or save 65,000 job.  The two-year old effort by the Energy Department, designed to jump-start the nation’s clean technology industry by giving energy companies access to low-cost, government-backed loans, has given out almost half the allocated amount, according to government records.
