San Diego State University is going greener with the addition of a new major in sustainability studies designed to help students tackle some of the most complex social and environmental problems around the world.
The school announced the academic track this week, saying the move was prompted by student demand, faculty expertise and the need to prepare future leaders in a different way. The program includes a study abroad component based in the idea that creating a sustainable environment is a global challenge.
