CA Homeowners wanting rooftop solar have plenty of options

California regulators have set new rules for compensating rooftop solar owners, so now what?

Do you buy a solar system now or later? Is a lease better than purchasing? How about a loan?

Will it add value to your home?  Contact the appraisers at www.scappraisals.com forerunners in Green Property Appraisals.

As the pace of purchasing solar power systems picks up, it can get cloudy for consumers who are trying to figure out how and when to enter the market.

As with many rapidly developing technologies, the key is to follow an approach that fits your economic situation, solar experts said. And just because new fees start this year or next, depending on where you live, it’s important to install a system when you are ready, not on some regulatory timetable.

Homeowners who want to go solar can choose from an array of financial options.

San Diego – Home Prices Rose more slowly in 2015

Home prices rose more slowly in 2015 than previous years, but it was enough to push many communities in San Diego County past their pre-recession peaks. Rising prices led some areas east and south of the city – like El Cajon and San Ysidro – to see substantial price increases of 16 percent and 14 percent, respectively.

Contact the appraiser at www.scappraisals.com for your home value questions.

Eighteen neighborhoods, including El Cajon with a median home price of $415,000, shot past records. Before the housing crash, its highest level was $385,000 in 2007.

At the same time, older communities with few new homes, such as Hillcrest and

Mission Beach, actually dropped slightly in value by about 1 percent.

Most predictions for this year say the rate of price appreciation will continue to slow

because of affordability issues and higher mortgage rates.
